I dream of painting and then I paint my dream. (Van Gogh)
What blocks us from dreaming? How can we go deeper? How can we use our dreams to expand our performance, writing and creative capacities?
As actors, writers, directors, makers, we are called upon to go deep in order to produce stirring, soulful, authentic work. But there are many obstacles to going deep, multiple things blocking us from the full scope of our imagination and empathy.
This evening workshop will open an experimental and playful space to explore channels to depth, dreaming and authenticity. Fusing meditative and improvisation practices, participants will learn strategies for creative writing & character development, increasing empathy, consciousness and play in their practice. More sessions to follow in Spring.
You may like to come with a, character, monologue or scene you are currently working on. Or, alternatively, with a blank slate. Either is welcomed.
Please wear comfortable, warm clothing.
