11th & 12th June; 10.30am-1.30pm at the Actors Centre
As part of my training with charity ‘Theatre for a Change’ (TfaC) ahead of my expedition to the Democratic Republic of the Congo this summer, I will be exploring TfaC’s methodology, inspired by August Boal, empowering participants to tell their stories and change the attitudes of their peers, communities and decision makers through interactive and legislative theatre.
We will be basing our work on the Rights of the Actor in the UK. What are the challenges facing actors today? And how might actors be better supported?
This is a unique approach for promoting deeper empathy within the audience, encouraging the exploration of new behaviours that challenge traditional power hierarchies, and promoting specific policy and legislative changes.
It will be a playful, inspiring and stirring weekend, promoting action, reaction and change!
